Walter Cherubini, reporter for the newspaper La Provincia di Parma, is transferred to crime news due to a dispute with the editor. Despite his inexperience in the field, he will soon find himself dealing with the case of an honorable man's suicide. The man, with the help of Candy, a journalist from a local broadcaster, discovers that the solution to the mystery lies behind a recent trip made by the politician and other fellow citizens to Cuba.
