Klarendal, tranendal?

Overview

Documentary filmmaker Frans Bromet portrays the Arnhem neighborhood of Klarendal through the eyes of its residents, organizations, activities, and problems. The neighborhood is on the list of forty problem neighborhoods announced in 2007 by Ella Vogelaar, Minister of Housing, Neighborhoods, and Integration. Under the 'Vogelaar approach,' the neighborhoods on this list are subject to a multi-year, comprehensive restructuring, in which government bodies collaborate with housing corporations and social, community, and cultural institutions established in the area. Together with the residents, Bromet questions whether such a restructuring is necessary and, if so, how it can best be implemented.
