
Maria Valfi is the daughter of wealthy merchant Valfi, who is unjustly accused in a trial for some uncovered checks. The plaintiff's lawyer in the trial is Dimitris Alexiadis, who is an arrogant lawyer. Valfis commits suicide in court and Maria believes that the lawyer is responsible for her father's death. At her father's grave, Maria swears an oath of hatred against the young lawyer. Her revenge begins seven years later, when she gets a job at his office as a trainee lawyer under the name "Maria Valfopoulou." She then manages to marry him. After the wedding, she reveals her secret and her real name to him. From then on, her oath of hatred turns into an oath of love...
