Paolo Villaggio, sitting at a bar table, is struck by the title of a book or a radio broadcast and begins to imagine himself in the shoes of various characters and in funny situations, always alongside the beautiful Nicoletta Macchiavelli. Back to reality, he orders a martini which he drinks in the company of the actress.
